**New Delhi, India** – Delhi residents can expect a significant respite from the scorching heat this week, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast five days of gusty winds and rain. A yellow alert has been issued for two days, warning of strong winds and showers.

The IMD predicts wind speeds reaching 40 kilometers per hour, with gusts potentially hitting 50 kilometers per hour. The unsettled weather is expected to begin on May 5th, affecting Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). This day will see cloudy skies, thunderstorms, and light rain accompanied by strong winds.

A similar yellow alert is in place for May 6th, with the same conditions expected. Maximum temperatures on this day are forecast to reach 32-34°C, with minimums of 22-24°C.

While the intensity of the storms is expected to lessen from May 7th to May 9th, Delhi and the NCR can still expect partly cloudy skies, light rain, and winds of 15-25 kilometers per hour. Maximum temperatures will hover around 33-37°C and minimums between 23-25°C.

The IMD anticipates partly cloudy skies and winds of 20-30 kilometers per hour for May 10th and 11th. Temperatures are expected to gradually rise again, with highs of 35-37°C and lows of 26-28°C on May 10th, and highs of 36-38°C and lows of 27-29°C on May 11th. The overall forecast offers a welcome change from the recent heatwave conditions.
