**COIMBATORE, INDIA – May 4, 2025** – Over 6,700 candidates took the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate medical courses in Coimbatore today, with a 96.65% attendance rate. The exam, held across 14 centers, saw minimal disruptions, according to Coimbatore district NEET coordinator R.K. Mishra. While candidates reported the exam to be time-consuming, with physics deemed the most challenging section, the event proceeded smoothly with robust security measures in place. A total of 85 police personnel were deployed for frisking duties, ensuring a safe and orderly examination process. In a notable instance of assistance, police helped a candidate in Tiruppur change her clothing to comply with exam center regulations. While most candidates felt prepared, several commented on the difficulty of completing the exam within the allotted time.
