BENGALURU, INDIA – May 4, 2025 – Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, issued a public challenge to senior Congress leaders on Sunday. He demanded proof for their claims that Veer Savarkar and Communist leader Shripad Amrit Dange, not the Congress party, were responsible for B.R. Ambedkar’s defeat in Lok Sabha elections.
Narayanaswamy, addressing a press conference, accused Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Siddaramaiah, Priyank Kharge, and Jairam Ramesh of making false statements. He offered a ₹1,00,001 cash prize if they could substantiate their claims, otherwise he challenged them to resign from their posts. He further accused the Congress of historically disrespecting Ambedkar and criticized the government’s delayed implementation of internal reservations for Scheduled Castes, expressing skepticism about the upcoming survey.
