**SAN FRANCISCO –** Robbie Ray delivered a masterful performance, leading the San Francisco Giants to a 4-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies Friday night, ending a three-game losing skid. Ray, the 2021 AL Cy Young Award winner, allowed just two singles over seven shutout innings, striking out eight and needing only 86 pitches. Hayden Birdsong secured the shutout, the Giants’ first of the season, pitching a scoreless eighth and ninth.
The Giants offense provided enough support, scoring three runs in the second inning, highlighted by an RBI double from LaMonte Wade Jr. Matt Chapman, breaking out of a slump, added a solo home run in the third.
