**Lucknow, April 29, 2025** – A wanted murder suspect, Jitendra, was killed in a police encounter in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, according to a senior police official. The Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar stated that Jitendra died during a joint operation between the Mainpuri Police and the Agra unit of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF). The encounter occurred near the Tarapur Cut bridge, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. Jitendra was injured and subsequently pronounced dead on arrival at a district hospital. Police recovered a motorcycle, a pistol, and ammunition from the scene. Jitendra had several serious criminal charges against him in Hathras, including murder, attempted murder, and robbery. A reward of ₹1 lakh had been offered for his capture.
