Tue Apr 29 04:10:00 UTC 2025: ## India Dominates Sri Lanka in Rain-Curtailed Tri-Series Opener

**Colombo, Sri Lanka:** India secured a convincing nine-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in a rain-affected first match of the tri-series in Colombo. A strong bowling performance, spearheaded by Sneh Rana’s three-wicket haul and contributions from Nallapureddy Charani and Deepti Sharma (two wickets each), restricted Sri Lanka to a paltry 147 in 38.1 overs.

A two-hour rain delay reduced the match to a 39-overs-a-side contest. Despite early boundaries from Hasini Perera (30 runs), Sri Lanka’s innings faltered after the loss of key wickets. Rana’s spin bowling proved particularly effective, while Charani claimed her maiden ODI wicket in the process. Kavisha Dilhari (25 runs) offered some late resistance, but it was insufficient to prevent a comprehensive collapse.

In reply, India chased down the target with ease, reaching 149/1 in 29.4 overs. Pratika Rawal (50*) and Harleen Deol (48*) led the charge with an unbeaten 95-run partnership, ensuring a comfortable win for the visitors. Rawal notched her fourth consecutive fifty in the process. The victory marks a strong start for India in the tri-series.
