**Hyderabad, April 29, 2025** – The Telangana government’s ambitious Future City project has taken a significant step forward with the appointment of its first commissioner. K. Shashanka, a 2013-batch IAS officer, assumed charge on Monday, April 28th.

Shashanka, who previously served as collector of Mahabubabad, Rangareddy, and Karimnagar districts, also holds additional responsibilities as director of Mines and Geology and commissioner of State Flagship Projects. The Future City Development Authority (FCDA), established on March 12th, 2025, will oversee the development of the 765.28 square kilometer area, encompassing 56 villages across seven mandals in Ranga Reddy district.

The Future City project, a flagship initiative of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, aims to create economic and industrial clusters, attracting significant investment. The Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) will play a key role in this development. The FCDA’s creation aims to ensure focused development, planning, coordination, and supervision of the project.
