**Tirunelveli, India –** A 25-year-old woman and three of her male paramours have been arrested for the murder of her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter. Police in Thisaiyanvilai allege that Brinda, who was separated from her husband, took her daughter to a secluded plantain grove with Linga Selvam (26), Muthu Sudar (25), and Benjamin (25).
According to police reports, the men, while intoxicated, forced liquor mixed with soft drink into the crying child’s mouth, causing her to suffocate. Brinda then took the unresponsive child to her mother’s house before seeking medical attention. Hospital staff noticed injuries and alerted the police, leading to the arrests and the revelation of the crime. The case highlights a tragic instance of child abuse and violence stemming from an extramarital affair. All four individuals are currently in police custody.
