Fri Apr 25 02:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Ex-Pakistani Cricketer Kaneria Condemns PM Sharif’s Silence on Pahalgam Terror Attack
**SRINAGAR, INDIA/ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN** – Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria has sharply criticized Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his lack of condemnation following the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India, which killed 26 tourists. In a post on X, Kaneria accused the Prime Minister of tacitly supporting terrorism.
The attack, which occurred in Baisaran near Pahalgam on Tuesday, claimed the lives of 25 Indian and one Nepali national. The Resistance Front (TRF), a group linked to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed swift retribution, stating India will track down and punish the terrorists and their backers.
Kaneria questioned the Pakistani government’s response, highlighting the heightened alert status of Pakistani forces while simultaneously demanding an official condemnation of the attack. He stated that the Prime Minister’s silence only confirms Pakistan’s alleged role in harboring terrorists.
Kaneria’s criticism comes amidst a backdrop of past allegations of discrimination he faced in Pakistan. He has previously claimed his cricketing career was unfairly hampered due to lack of support in his home country.
