Tue Apr 22 07:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Delhi High Court Condemns Ramdev Baba’s Remarks on Hamdard Sharbat
**NEW DELHI** – The Delhi High Court has strongly condemned yoga guru Ramdev Baba’s remarks about Hamdard Sharbat, calling them “unjustified” and “shocking.” The court’s rebuke follows a video circulating online where Ramdev indirectly criticized Hamdard, suggesting the company’s profits from the sharbat were being misused. He contrasted this with his own Patanjali products, claiming that profits from their drinks funded gurukuls and the expansion of Patanjali University.
Hamdard, a prominent beverage company, petitioned the High Court demanding the removal of the video from social media, arguing that Ramdev’s statements were defamatory and amounted to hate speech. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing Hamdard, argued that the comments were far more serious than mere disparagement of their product.
The Delhi High Court agreed, expressing its shock at the nature of the remarks. The court’s response highlights the serious nature of the allegations and the potential impact of such statements on a company’s reputation.
This is not the first time Ramdev has faced legal scrutiny. Previously, Patanjali Ayurved, the company he founded, issued a public apology for misleading advertisements, a case that eventually concluded in the Supreme Court. While the contempt case was dropped following the apology, the Supreme Court warned of severe consequences for future violations.
