Tue Apr 22 05:44:34 UTC 2025: ## Pistons End Historic Playoff Losing Streak with Knicks Upset

**New York, NY** – The Detroit Pistons have ended their NBA-record 15-game postseason losing streak with a thrilling 100-94 victory over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The win evens their Eastern Conference first-round series at one game apiece.

Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 33 points and 12 rebounds, while Dennis Schroder’s clutch three-pointer with 55.7 seconds remaining proved decisive, breaking a 94-94 tie. Schroder finished with 20 points off the bench. Tobias Harris contributed 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Jalen Duren added 12 points and 13 boards.

The Knicks, led by Jalen Brunson’s 37 points (14 in the fourth quarter), mounted a furious comeback after trailing by as many as 15 points in the third. However, the Pistons held on, thanks in part to strong free throw shooting in the final seconds. Mikal Bridges added 19 points for New York, while Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby were held to 10 points each.

“We did what we were supposed to do,” said Pistons coach JB Bickerstaff. “To win a game on the road to get home court was what we came here for.”

The series now shifts to Detroit for Game 3 on Thursday.

**Clippers Even Series Against Nuggets**

In other playoff action, Kawhi Leonard exploded for 39 points on 15-of-19 shooting, leading the Los Angeles Clippers to a 105-102 victory over the Denver Nuggets. The win ties their Western Conference first-round series 1-1. Leonard’s performance came after a seven-turnover game in the series opener. Nikola Jokic recorded a triple-double for Denver, but missed a crucial three-pointer in the final seconds. Game 3 will be held in Los Angeles on Thursday.
