**Salem, Tamil Nadu, April 19, 2025** – A 15-year-old boy drowned in a farm well near Udaiyapatti, Salem, on Friday afternoon. M. Bharanidharan, a Class X student, was bathing with friends at Ramasamy Udayar Thottam when the incident occurred. Unable to swim, he drowned. His friends raised the alarm, and local residents contacted the Shevapet Fire and Rescue Service. Firefighters retrieved Bharanidharan’s body from the well, and it was sent to Salem Government Hospital for a post-mortem. Ammapet police have registered a case and are investigating.
