**Hyderabad, Telangana, April 19, 2025** – Ahead of the Biennial Election to the Telangana Legislative Council’s Hyderabad Local Authorities Constituency on April 23rd, Hyderabad City Police have implemented stringent prohibitory orders to maintain law and order. The measures, announced by Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, will be in effect from April 21st to April 26th.

Key restrictions include a complete ban on gatherings of five or more people within 200 meters of polling stations and counting centers on April 23rd and 25th, respectively. A city-wide liquor ban will be in place from 4 p.m. on April 21st until 4 p.m. on April 23rd, and again for 24 hours from 6 a.m. on April 25th. Celebratory activities, including firecracker use, are prohibited on April 25th.

Further restrictions from April 21st to April 24th, and again on counting day, encompass bans on processions, carrying weapons, erecting temporary structures, and using loudspeakers. Sloganeering, musical performances, and the distribution of inflammatory materials are also prohibited. Only police, armed forces personnel, and authorized election officials are exempt. Limited door-to-door campaigning by groups of less than five individuals will be permitted. Violators will face prosecution. The measures aim to ensure a peaceful and orderly election process.
