**NEW DELHI, April 19, 2025** – Delhi experienced a temporary reprieve from the rising temperatures on Saturday, as rain and gusty winds swept through parts of the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the minimum temperature was a comfortable 25.8° Celsius, 4.2 degrees above normal. However, the IMD forecasts thunderstorms and light rain throughout the day, with a maximum temperature expected to reach 38° Celsius.
Friday’s weather brought 0.5 mm of rainfall to several observatories, including Narela, Pitampura, and Mayur Vihar. A fresh cloud cluster has now moved into the city, bringing light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds of 30-40 kilometers per hour. This system is expected to continue throughout the day.
Despite the rain, air quality remains in the ‘moderate’ category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 162 at 9 am. The AQI is expected to improve further as the rains continue.
