Sat Apr 19 15:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Bihar Teen Makes IPL History as Youngest Ever Player

**New Delhi:** Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 14-year-old from Bihar, has made history by becoming the youngest player ever to feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He debuted for the Rajasthan Royals against the Lucknow Super Giants on Saturday during IPL 2025.

Suryavanshi, purchased by the Royals for ₹1.10 crore at the IPL auction, played his first match at the age of 14 years and 23 days. Although not initially in the starting XI, he was expected to enter the game as an impact player. His inclusion was attributed to the absence of regular captain Sanju Samson due to injury; Ryan Parag captained the Royals in his stead and confirmed Suryavanshi’s record-breaking debut.

Suryavanshi broke the previous record held by Prathvi Raj Barman, who debuted for Royal Challengers Bangalore at age 16 years and 157 days in 2019.

Lucknow Super Giants, captained by Rishabh Pant, won the toss and opted to bat first. The full playing XIs for both teams were announced, highlighting Suryavanshi’s presence amongst the Rajasthan Royals’ impact player substitutes.
