Sat Apr 19 17:13:08 UTC 2025: ## BJP Leader Accuses DMK of Spying on Party Members Ahead of Tamil Nadu Elections
**COIMBATORE, April 19, 2025** – Nainar Nagendran, State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu, has accused the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) of monitoring BJP members’ communications. Speaking at a party meeting in Coimbatore on Saturday, Nagendran claimed the DMK is tracking conversations to identify who BJP members are speaking with and the content of those discussions, alleging phone tapping is taking place.
Nagendran stated his primary goal is to protect BJP cadre from the DMK’s alleged surveillance. He urged party members to refrain from posting about alliances or seat allocations on social media, emphasizing the importance of focusing on booth-level organization and collaboration with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) for the upcoming Assembly elections.
He further asserted that the BJP aims to secure more seats in the Assembly than the AIADMK, stating, “It should be more than that of two leaves” (referencing the AIADMK’s election symbol). Nagendran’s comments follow Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s announcement of frequent visits to Tamil Nadu. The BJP’s accusations raise concerns about political espionage and intensify the already heated atmosphere leading up to the state elections.
