Thu Apr 17 07:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Tamannaah Bhatia’s ‘Odela 2’ Opens to Mixed Reviews
**Hyderabad, April 17:** Tamannaah Bhatia’s much-anticipated horror film, “Odela 2,” hit theaters today. The sequel to the OTT release “Odela Railway Station,” the film directed by Ashok Tej and supervised by Sampath Nandi, generated significant buzz leading up to its release. Produced by newcomer Madhu, the marketing campaign successfully heightened anticipation among audiences.
“Odela 2″ picks up where its predecessor left off, focusing on Radha (Hebah Patel), who kills her abusive husband, Tirupati (Vashishta Simha), after he rapes and murders several newlywed women in their village. While Radha is imprisoned, the villagers inflict a symbolic punishment on Tirupati, but his spirit returns to haunt the village, continuing his gruesome spree. The villagers, suspecting the village priest and Mayanna, seek the help of Radha’s sister, Bhairavi (Tamannaah Bhatia), an agori, to put an end to the terror. The film’s plot centers on Bhairavi’s efforts to save the village from Tirupati’s vengeful spirit.
While the film’s plot is readily apparent from its promotional material, drawing comparisons to ” Arundhati,” the execution is deemed a mixed bag by critics. The first half is described as slow-paced, building the narrative but lacking a significant impact. However, Tamannaah’s entry and the subsequent interval sequence are highlighted as highlights, generating renewed audience interest. The confrontation scenes with the vengeful spirit are considered routine, although the climax is praised for its visual impact and background score, largely thanks to the music by Ajaneesh Loknath.
Tamannaah’s performance receives significant praise, showcasing a range beyond her usual glamorous roles, while Vashishta Simha’s portrayal of the vengeful spirit is also lauded. However, Hebah Patel’s acting is criticized. The cinematography is commended for adding to the overall viewing experience.
The film, however, is not for the faint-hearted, featuring graphic violence and intense horror sequences. Overall, “Odela 2” is described as a mixed bag—a gripping story with impressive visuals and performances, let down by a predictable plot and graphic content. Whether it lives up to the hype remains to be seen based on audience reception.
