Tue Apr 15 14:53:05 UTC 2025: ## Kadapa Police Recover ₹1.8 Crore Worth of Stolen Mobile Phones
**KADAPA, Andhra Pradesh, April 15, 2025** – The Kadapa police have recovered 602 stolen mobile phones worth nearly ₹1.8 crore in a special operation dubbed ‘Operation Mobile Shield’. This brings the total number of phones recovered in six phases to 4,670, with a combined value of ₹9.2 crore.
The recovery was made possible through the use of advanced technologies including digital forensics, GPS tracking, IMEI tracing, and cyber surveillance tools, according to Superintendent of Police E.G. Ashok Kumar. The phones were recovered based on complaints received via the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.
Mr. Kumar inspected the recovered phones on Tuesday and commended the Cybercrime unit for their success, awarding commendation certificates to team members. He highlighted Kadapa district’s significant progress in mobile phone recovery efforts across the state.
Citizens who have lost their mobile phones are urged to utilize the Missing Mobile Tracking System (MMTS) and the CEIR portal, or contact the WhatsApp chatbot at 9392941541. Mr. Kumar also advised the public to take precautions against cyber fraud, including avoiding suspicious calls and emails, and immediately reporting any scams to the cybercrime police. He further recommended blocking bank accounts linked to lost phones, disabling SIM cards, and using two-factor authentication and biometric security on mobile banking apps.
