Tue Apr 15 15:42:16 UTC 2025: ## ISRO Chief Celebrates Ambedkar’s Birthday, Supports SC/ST Students
**Thiruvananthapuram, April 15, 2025** – The 134th birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar was celebrated in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman, V. Narayanan, as the chief guest. The event, organized by the All India SC/ST Employees’ Federation, included the distribution of financial aid to underprivileged Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students from government schools in the district. Merit awards were also presented to top-performing students.
ISRO officials, including the directors of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, and ISRO Inertial Systems Unit, were present and addressed the gathering. The celebrations began with a vehicle rally culminating in floral tributes paid at Ambedkar’s statue at the State Assembly. S. Murugan, chairman of the organizing committee, presided over the function.
