Tue Apr 15 14:51:31 UTC 2025: ## Thirunallar Residents Demand Relocation of Post Office and Library

**Karaikal, April 15, 2025** – Activists in Thirunallar are demanding the relocation of the town’s post office and branch library to more accessible government buildings. Currently, both facilities operate from rented private spaces, causing inconvenience to residents, particularly the elderly.

The post office, situated near a cremation ground nearly half a kilometer from the main area of Nalankulam, is deemed inaccessible. The library, also in a rented building, lacks adequate infrastructure and resources, according to Pon. Panneerselvam, general secretary of the Thirunallar Town Development Society.

Panneerselvam criticized the lack of priority given to these essential services, noting that temple shops near the Thirunallar shrine have been allocated to self-help groups while suitable government buildings remain vacant nearby. He further highlighted the library’s outdated condition and the need for modernization and expansion of its collection.

District administration officials have reportedly acknowledged the concerns and stated that the matter will be investigated.
