Mon Apr 14 23:06:00 UTC 2025: ## Rayalaseema Receives Rainfall, Temperatures to Fall Slightly
**Vijayawada, April 15, 2025** – Light to moderate rainfall swept across several parts of Rayalaseema on Monday, bringing much-needed relief from the heat. Balapanur in YSR Kadapa district recorded the highest rainfall at 32 mm. Other areas, including Mylavaram, Sunkesula, Kalumala Doddi, Katikapalli, and Boyalakuntla, experienced rainfall ranging from 10 mm to 30 mm. The rainfall has lowered temperatures, with the state’s highest temperature recorded at 41 degrees Celsius in Kanumukkala, also in YSR Kadapa district.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts light to moderate rainfall will continue until April 20. Thunderstorms with gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are also expected in isolated locations across Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. A slight decrease in maximum temperatures is anticipated over the next five days. However, IMD’s Senior Scientist S. Karunasagar cautioned that temperatures may rise again in the coming weeks.
The AP State Disaster Management Authority has urged citizens and farmers to remain vigilant due to the potential for sudden downpours. The IMD attributes the current weather pattern to an upper air cyclonic circulation over Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
