**Hyderabad, April 14, 2025** – K. Keshava Rao, advisor to the Telangana State government, emphasized the crucial role of skill-based courses in not only securing employment but also fostering entrepreneurship among students. Rao made these remarks at the closing ceremony of a social empowerment week commemorating the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and Babu Jagjivan Ram.
Highlighting the historical focus of universal education on equipping unskilled workers with necessary skills, Rao underscored the importance of quality higher education for all. He expressed hope that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) will expand its offerings to include more technical courses.
Dr. Ghanta Chakrapani, Vice-Chancellor of BRAOU, announced the university’s plans to enhance its infrastructure over the next three decades. This includes a significant expansion of skill-based courses and collaborations with prominent industrial institutions, aiming to train 10,000 skilled professionals annually. The government has approved these plans.
