**Bengaluru, April 14, 2025** – Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru has launched a new state-of-the-art Airport Truck Management Facility (ATMF) at its Domestic Cargo Terminal (DCT). Developed by Shell Mobility, the facility aims to streamline cargo movement, reduce congestion, and improve efficiency.

The ATMF, capable of handling approximately 1,600 trucks daily, boasts over 250 parking bays and leverages digital solutions for automated processes. Features include automated pre-check-ins, paperless entry and exit, and app-based approvals. These improvements have significantly reduced truck turnaround times, from an average of four hours to just one hour, with 78% of trucks now waiting less than 20 minutes to enter the terminal. The facility also provides enhanced driver amenities and 24/7 CCTV monitoring for improved security.

Satyaki Raghunath, Chief Operating Officer of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), stated that the investment in the ATMF was crucial due to the significant increase in cargo volume at the airport. He highlighted the facility’s role in ensuring timely cargo movement and improving the well-being of truck drivers. The ATMF is touted as India’s first on-airport truck management facility with a fully automated, paperless system.
