**New Delhi, April [Date of Publication]** – A 27-year-old woman, Lhing Janeng, was found dead in her Munirka residence on April 8th, allegedly murdered by her live-in partner, Jagminthang. Police arrested Jagminthang, a resident of Manipur, on Tuesday.

A PCR call alerted police to the discovery of a body with injury marks near a medical store. Upon investigation, officers found Janeng’s body inside a fifth-floor apartment where she had lived with Jagminthang for the past year.

Police reports indicate that a party was held at the apartment on the night of April 7th. Following the departure of guests, a dispute erupted between the couple. Jagminthang allegedly assaulted Janeng, suspecting infidelity. Witnesses at the party confirmed that Janeng had been assaulted and threatened previously.

A post-mortem examination at Safdarjung Hospital indicated physical assault as the likely cause of death. While initially evasive, Jagminthang confessed to the crime after sustained interrogation. He has been charged under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (culpable homicide not amounting to murder). The investigation is ongoing.
