**Hyderabad, April 12, 2025** – Cyberabad traffic police conducted a major crackdown on drunk driving on Friday, resulting in 247 arrests across various zones. The operation revealed alarmingly high blood alcohol content (BAC) levels in many offenders.

The majority of those arrested were male, with the highest number of offenses (28) recorded in Chevella. Jeedimetla (24), RC Puram (23), and Shadnagar (22) also reported significant numbers of arrests. Notably, no arrests were made in Miyapur and KPHB.

The age group most represented among the offenders was 21-30 years old (93 cases), followed closely by the 31-40 age group (88 cases). BAC levels ranged widely, with 48 offenders below 50 mg/100 ml, but a concerning 104 between 51-100 mg/100 ml. Five individuals had BAC levels exceeding 300 mg/100 ml.

All arrested individuals will face legal action, including potential imprisonment and fines. The police issued a stern warning, stating that those involved in fatal accidents while driving under the influence will face charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, potentially leading to up to 10 years of imprisonment.
