**Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh –** A 23-year-old law student, Danish Ara, died by suicide in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, following a failed relationship, police confirmed. Ara, who was pursuing her LLB, allegedly ended her life after experiencing emotional distress and alleged torture.
According to police reports, Ara had been in a relationship with a dental doctor, identified as Asad. Asad reportedly promised to marry Ara but later became engaged to another woman. Ara’s family alleges that she was taken to Asad’s family home where she was subjected to torture before returning home and taking her own life. A suicide note of sorts was found written in lipstick on a mirror in her room, reading “I quit.”
Upon discovering Ara’s body, police launched an investigation. Jhansi circle police officer Laxmikant Gautam stated that the body has been sent for autopsy and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is underway. The investigation will include looking into the allegations of torture made by Ara’s family. The case highlights the tragic consequences of relationship breakdowns and underscores the importance of addressing domestic violence and emotional abuse.
