**Patna, Bihar:** Prashant Kishor, the prominent poll strategist turned politician, has declared his willingness to contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections against RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Kishor, whose Jan Suraaj Party is preparing for its electoral debut, confirmed he would run against Yadav in Raghopur, a traditional RJD stronghold, if his party selects him.
Kishor’s party plans to campaign on issues of corruption, migration, and lack of governance, arguing that the current Nitish Kumar-led NDA government is plagued by anti-incumbency and ineffective leadership. He predicts the NDA will not form the next government, asserting that even if the INDIA bloc wins, Nitish Kumar will not be Chief Minister.
Dismissing accusations of caste-based politics, Kishor stated that his party will provide ticket distribution proportional to population, unlike what he described as the typical caste politics of Tejashwi and Lalu Yadav. He criticized the recent caste survey conducted by the Bihar government, highlighting the lack of action on its findings. He also addressed concerns about his past as a poll strategist, insisting that he is now a full-time politician. His attendance at Iftar parties, he explained, is simply a matter of being present in the community during Ramadan. The Bihar elections promise a significant political showdown, with Kishor’s Jan Suraaj party adding another layer of complexity to the already intricate power dynamics.
