Thu Apr 10 17:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Chelsea Cruise to Dominant Victory Over Legia Warsaw in Conference League

**Warsaw, Poland** – Chelsea took a commanding 3-0 lead in their UEFA Conference League quarter-final first leg against Legia Warsaw on Thursday, leaving them firmly in control of the tie ahead of the return leg. A 19-year-old academy product, Tyrique George, scored his first senior goal for the club, while Noni Madueke bagged a brace in a second-half display that saw Chelsea dramatically improve after a halftime substitution.

The first half saw Chelsea dominate possession but struggle to break down Legia’s resolute defence. Opportunities were few and far between, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall coming closest for Chelsea on a couple of occasions.

However, the introduction of Madueke at halftime proved pivotal. After James’ shot was parried by Legia’s goalkeeper, George pounced to open the scoring. Madueke then added two goals, capitalizing on a goalkeeper error and a well-worked team move, to give Chelsea a comfortable lead. A penalty save by the Legia goalkeeper prevented Nkunku from adding to the scoreline, but Madueke quickly responded with his second.

While Legia threatened a late consolation goal, Chelsea held on for a resounding victory that leaves them strong favorites to progress to the semi-finals. The impressive performance further solidifies Chelsea’s status as the competition favourites ahead of the final in Wroclaw on May 28.
