Fri Apr 11 15:40:00 UTC 2025: **ABC’s ‘The View’ Accused of Extreme Liberal Bias in 2025 Guest Lineup**
NEW YORK — A study by the Media Research Center (MRC) has revealed a stark imbalance in the guest lineup of ABC’s daytime talk show, “The View,” during the first three months of 2025. The MRC’s NewsBusters division analyzed every episode from January 6th to April 4th and found that the show hosted 63 left-leaning guests, including nine Democratic politicians and numerous liberal celebrities and pundits, while featuring zero conservative voices.
Notable liberal guests included Senators Tammy Duckworth, John Fetterman, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, and Chuck Schumer, as well as Governor Gretchen Whitmer and other Democratic officials. Hollywood figures like John Leguizamo, Ellen Pompeo, and Chelsea Handler also appeared. The MRC also noted the presence of left-leaning figures like Kara Swisher and Dylan Mulvaney.
NewsBusters associate editor Nicholas Fondacaro argues that this overwhelmingly one-sided guest list reflects “an agenda to flood the zone with left-wing political spin.” He points to instances where hosts defended efforts to influence the 2024 election and expressed support for anti-Trump protests. The study also highlights comments made by co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who, according to Fondacaro, “saluted the resistance” and suggested the show could play a key role in guiding Democratic Party politics. Even the show’s two purportedly Republican co-hosts, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin, were described by Fondacaro as not significantly differing in their views from the other liberal hosts.
An ABC News insider disputed the study’s findings, suggesting that the MRC mischaracterized the political leanings of some guests and that many celebrities were booked to promote their projects rather than for their political views. However, the MRC’s data indicates a significant disparity in political representation on the show. “The View” has yet to respond directly to the accusations.
