**Bengaluru, April 11, 2025** – Three people tragically drowned in a lake near Vaddarahalli village in Karnataka’s Kolar district on Thursday evening. The victims were identified as Ramesh (35), Charan (15), and Agastya (8).
According to Bethamangala Police, the two children were playing in the lake while Ramesh watched. Recent highway construction near the lake resulted in a buildup of sludge, which trapped the children while they were swimming. Ramesh attempted to rescue them but also drowned.
The bodies were recovered and sent for post-mortem. A case has been registered by the police. The incident highlights the potential dangers posed by construction projects near bodies of water.
