**Bengaluru, April 10, 2025** – The Karnataka government announced a new initiative to rectify errors in land records and eliminate discrepancies affecting farmers. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, speaking at the 36th National Land Survey Day event, unveiled plans to make all Karnataka villages “Podi Mukta Gramas” (error-free villages) through a comprehensive land survey.

The initiative will involve the recruitment of 36 Assistant Directors of Land Records & Survey Settlement to expedite the process. The Chief Minister confirmed that appointments have been made transparently and appointment letters will be issued shortly. He also urged surveyors to focus on clearing encroachments on tanks and lakebeds.

Mr. Siddaramaiah emphasized the importance of accurate and efficient land record services for farmers, stating that timely and correct RTC (Record of Rights, Tenancy, and Crops) issuance would minimize farmer complaints. He praised Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda for the department’s efficient functioning and data management. The event was attended by MLAs and senior officials.
