**Hyderabad, April 8, 2025** – The Telangana High Court today dismissed the appeals of five men sentenced to death for their roles in the 2013 Dilsukhnagar bomb blasts. The blasts, allegedly carried out by Indian Mujahideen operatives, killed 18 people and injured many more.
The court confirmed the death sentences handed down by a NIA Special Court in 2016. The convicts, identified as Ahmed Siddibappa Zarrar alias Yasin Bhatkal, Ajaz Shaikh, Zia Ur Rahman alias Waqas, Asadullah Akthar alias Haddi, and Mohammed Tahseen Akthar alias Hassan, had filed their appeal in 2016 seeking to overturn the lower court’s judgment. The High Court also upheld the additional penalties imposed on the convicts.
One suspect, Mohd Riyaz alias Riyaz Bhaktal, remains at large. The NIA originally investigated the case.
