**Mullanpur:** The Punjab Kings (PBKS) suffered their first defeat in IPL 2025, falling to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a commanding 50 runs in Mullanpur. Chasing a challenging 206, PBKS were bowled out for 155/9, with only Nehal Wadhera offering significant resistance.
Young all-rounder Suryansh Shedge, a rising star in Indian domestic cricket, had a disappointing outing, scoring just two runs before being dismissed. Despite his recent success in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he played alongside PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer, Shedge struggled to replicate his impressive domestic form. This season, Shedge boasts a remarkable strike rate of 251.92 and an average of 43.66 in T20 matches.
The 22-year-old Mumbai-born player was acquired by PBKS for his base price of INR 30 lakh in the IPL 2025 auction.
