**Salem, Tamil Nadu –** Tamil Nadu Tourism Minister R. Rajendran inaugurated new bus routes in Salem on Sunday, replacing older vehicles with modern ones to improve connectivity in rural areas. The expansion includes extending the Salem-Pachamalai route to Uppiliapuram and the Salem-Omalur route to Vazhadasampatti, addressing requests from local villagers. The extended services aim to benefit school children and farmers.

Later, Mr. Rajendran participated in a celebration marking Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s birthday, distributing prizes at a sporting event in Hanging Garden. He highlighted the Chief Minister’s welfare schemes for women, including free bus travel, Pudhumai Penn Thittam, and Kalaingar Magalir Urimai Thogai, noting significant loan allocations for women’s self-help groups in Salem district. Mr. Rajendran also claimed that Tamil Nadu’s economic progress is leading the nation, despite alleged insufficient funding from the central government. He cited other states, including West Bengal, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, as adopting similar successful schemes implemented in Tamil Nadu.
