**PHOENIX, AZ** – Lori Vallow Daybell, already serving a life sentence in Idaho for the murders of her two children and her husband’s first wife, is set to represent herself in a Phoenix courtroom Monday. She faces a new murder conspiracy trial related to the 2019 death of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow.
In an exclusive interview with True Crime Arizona, Daybell, dubbed the “Doomsday Mom,” maintained her innocence, attributing the events surrounding her life to a “domino effect of tragedies.” She acknowledged the stress of the upcoming trial but insisted she is not putting on a show, but rather fighting for her life and for other incarcerated women facing similar situations. Daybell stated her goal is to tell the truth and defend against wrongful accusations.
The trial, expected to last until next month, will focus on the death of Charles Vallow, who was shot by Daybell’s brother, Alex Cox, who claimed self-defense. Cox later died of natural causes. Daybell is also facing a separate trial in June concerning the attempted murder of her niece’s ex-husband, Brandon Boudreaux.
Despite her prior conviction in Idaho and the death sentence handed to her husband, Chad Daybell, for the murders of Tammy Daybell and the Vallow children, Daybell insists she is a victim of circumstance. The bodies of her children, Tylee Ryan and J.J. Vallow, were discovered buried on Chad Daybell’s property in 2020.
