**Kannur, Kerala – April 5, 2025** – A woman police officer sustained a leg injury after an accidental discharge of a firearm at the Thalassery police station on Tuesday. Rajisha, a woman constable, was injured by shrapnel when a civil police officer, identified as Subin, accidentally fired his weapon during a shift change. The bullet did not directly strike the officer.
Subin has been suspended pending an investigation into the incident. Rajisha is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kannur. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accidental discharge.
