Fri Apr 04 07:37:33 UTC 2025: ## Sodexo Hyderabad Facility Cited for Multiple Food Safety Violations

**Hyderabad, India (April 3, 2025)** – A Telangana state food safety task force uncovered numerous violations at a Sodexo production unit in Hyderabad’s Kondapur area during an inspection on April 2nd. The inspection revealed a range of hygiene and safety concerns, including a housefly infestation in the raw material reception area, 16 kilograms of paneer with unreadable packing dates (subsequently discarded), and blood dripping from packaged raw meat in the chiller room.

Further issues included food items stored on the floor of the cold storage, a wet and littered grinding area with patchy flooring, clogged kitchen drains filled with food waste, uncovered food stored below knee height, and insufficient space between walls and storage racks hindering proper cleaning. These conditions raised serious concerns about potential food contamination.

Sodexo India issued a statement acknowledging the inspection and the areas for improvement. While highlighting their commitment to food safety and a previous high compliance score (93% on the FSSAI checklist), the company pledged to address the noted issues and collaborate with experts to further enhance their safety standards. The company awaits the official post-audit report.

This Sodexo inspection is the latest in a series of food safety checks conducted by the Telangana task force across the state in recent months. Previous inspections have targeted dairy units, snack stalls, juice centers, and nutraceutical manufacturing units, consistently revealing various violations and prompting calls for improved food safety practices across the region.
