**London, April 4, 2025** – British actor and comedian Russell Brand has been charged with rape and sexual assault by the Metropolitan Police. The 50-year-old faces one count of rape, one of indecent assault, one of oral rape, and two of sexual assault, allegedly committed between 1999 and 2005.
The charges follow an investigation launched after Channel 4 and the Sunday Times published allegations from four unnamed women in September 2023. Brand has denied the allegations, stating all his relationships were consensual.
Known for his provocative stand-up comedy, television and radio work, and Hollywood roles, Brand has in recent years cultivated a large online following through videos blending wellness and conspiracy theories. He recently relocated to the United States.
Brand is scheduled to appear in a London court on May 2nd.
