**Madurai, April 4, 2025** – Former Director of the ISRO Satellite Centre, Mylswamy Annadurai, addressed students at Thiagarajar College of Engineering’s 67th College Day on Thursday, emphasizing the importance of self-discipline alongside talent for achieving success. He highlighted India’s burgeoning growth across various sectors, including defence, space, and sustainable development, urging students to seize the emerging opportunities.

Annadurai specifically cited the Kulasekarapattinam spaceport project as an example of opportunities requiring a strong technical aptitude. He lauded India’s cost-effective approach to space exploration, exemplified by the Moon and Mars missions, demonstrating that meticulous planning and innovation don’t necessitate exorbitant spending. He challenged students to set ambitious goals and prioritize continuous growth.

College secretary Hari Thiagarajan also addressed the students, highlighting Annadurai’s achievements and the expanding opportunities within the defence sector, particularly in indigenous space component manufacturing and maintenance. He emphasized India’s youthful and ambitious population as a key strength. The event also included the felicitation of top-performing students, presentation of the annual report by Principal L.
