**Kolkata, India** – Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) cruised to a resounding victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2025 match, but the win was overshadowed by KKR fast bowler Harshit Rana’s repeated controversial celebration.
Rana, who had previously been banned for a similar incident, once again performed his “flying kiss” celebration after dismissing an SRH batsman. This is not the first time Rana has faced disciplinary action for this celebration. In IPL 2024, he was fined 60% of his match fee for a similar act against SRH’s Mayank Agarwal. A subsequent repeat against Delhi Capitals resulted in a one-match ban.
Despite the previous sanctions, Rana repeated the celebration in the match against SRH, this time after dismissing Abhishek Sharma. KKR won the match convincingly, posting 200/6 in their innings thanks to Venkatesh Iyer’s 60 (29 balls) and Rinku Singh’s unbeaten 32 (17 balls). SRH were bowled out for a paltry 120 in 16.4 overs, suffering their heaviest defeat of the tournament.
The IPL authorities are expected to take action against Rana for his repeated breach of code of conduct. The specific penalties are yet to be announced.
