**Chennai, April 4, 2025** – Construction of the new ₹43-crore headquarters building for the Tambaram Corporation is progressing steadily and is on track for completion by the end of the year. The three-storey building, situated on a 4.63-acre plot on GST Road near Sanatorium, will house the Commissioner, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and other administrative offices. The ground floor will feature ample parking.
The project, initiated on November 12, 2024, utilizes land allocated by the State government. The Tambaram Corporation, formed in 2021 by merging several local bodies, currently operates from the former Tambaram Municipality office. Once the headquarters is complete, the corporation plans to build additional headquarters for its five zones. The new corporation encompasses 70 divisions across these zones.
