Fri Apr 04 14:51:27 UTC 2025: ## Kodagu Tourism Official Rules Out E-Pass System for Hill Station
**Mysuru, April 4, 2025** – The Deputy Director of Tourism in Kodagu, Anita Bhaskar, has ruled out the implementation of an e-pass system to regulate tourist vehicles in the district. Unlike hill stations such as Udhagamandalam and Kodaikanal, Kodagu has multiple entry points and high traffic volume on major routes, making an e-pass system impractical, she explained during a media interaction in Madikeri.
Despite this, Ms. Bhaskar announced plans for infrastructure development to improve the tourist experience. A ₹1.62 crore project is underway to develop the Mandalpatti junction, including tourist facilities. Improvements to roads leading to Mandalpatti are also planned with the support of MLA Mantar Gowda. Further, the district will see the development of water sports at Honnamanna Kere, kayaking at Ponnampet, and other adventure activities.
