**RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM, Andhra Pradesh, April 4, 2025** – The Amaravathi Chitra Kala Veedhi, a national art festival, concluded Friday in Rajamahendravaram, showcasing a diverse range of artistic creations. Hundreds of artists and craftspeople from across the country displayed their works in over 500 stalls set up along the city’s Central Prison.

The festival featured a captivating array of art forms, including paintings by prison inmates, sculptures by Rajkumar Vudayar depicting iconic Indian figures, and traditional Srikalahasthi-style Kalamkari art. Unique creations using millets and leaves proved particularly popular with children. Cultural performances, encompassing tribal dances, Kuchipudi, Andhra Natyam, and folk dances, further enlivened the event.

A highlight was the participation of P. Rama Rao, a Border Security Force (BSF) soldier stationed in Chhattisgarh, who exhibited acrylic paintings depicting life along the India-Pakistan border. He took a four-day leave to attend the festival.

Andhra Pradesh’s Tourism and Culture Minister Kandula Durgesh inaugurated the event, praising the festival for celebrating Rajamahendravaram’s rich cultural heritage. Deputy Speaker R. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju also lauded the initiative. The revenue generated from art sales will be used to renovate the Damerla Rama Rao Art Gallery in the city.
