AMARAVATI, INDIA – The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has awarded contracts for the construction of the state Legislative Assembly and High Court buildings in Amaravati. The projects are being fast-tracked in anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to lay the foundation stone for the capital’s reconstruction.

L&T has secured the ₹617 crore (approximately $75 million USD) contract for the Assembly building, while NCC will construct the High Court building for ₹786 crore (approximately $95 million USD). The CRDA is expected to formally approve these contracts at an upcoming meeting, after which Letters of Acceptance (LOAs) will be issued.

The Assembly building will span 11.21 lakh square feet across 103.76 acres, encompassing a basement, ground floor, and three additional floors. The High Court building will cover 20.32 lakh square feet across 42.36 acres with a basement, ground floor, and seven additional floors.

Meanwhile, the CRDA is preparing to tender for the construction of several iconic towers. However, this process is slightly delayed pending government approval of the designs and finalization of material costs. Officials expect these tenders to be released in the coming days.
