**Chennai, April 4, 2025:** Tamil Nadu is experiencing heavy rainfall, with Makkinampatti in Pollachi recording the highest 24-hour rainfall total of 103 mm as of 8:00 AM today. The Chennai Meteorological Centre has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in several districts across the state.
The districts likely to experience heavy downpours today include Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivaganga, Tenkasi, Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, and Thiruvarur. The Met department advises residents in these areas to remain vigilant.
