**HYDERABAD, April 2, 2025** – A proposed auction of 400 acres of land in Kancha Gachibowli, Hyderabad, has sparked outrage among celebrities and environmental activists, who fear the destruction of a vital green space. The land, located within the city’s IT hub, is slated for auction by the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC).
Bollywood and South Indian film stars have joined the chorus of protest, voicing concerns about the potential loss of biodiversity. Dia Mirza took to X, stating, “Students are raising their voices for a future where nature thrives. Forests, not IT parks, offer young people a chance at a sustainable tomorrow. ‘Development’ at the cost of biodiversity is DESTRUCTION.
