**Hyderabad, April 1, 2025** – A 21-year-old woman from Italy was sexually assaulted in Hyderabad on Monday night, police said. The victim, who arrived in the city to visit a friend, accepted a ride from a 25-year-old man driving a hired car in the Pahadishareef area.
According to Maheshwaram DCP D. Sunitha Reddy, the accused, who was accompanied by five minors, offered the woman and her friend a lift. After driving around for approximately 90 minutes and dropping off the other passengers, the driver took the victim to a secluded location under the pretense of taking photographs and videos. He then sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene.
Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for the accused. The victim has undergone a medical examination. The incident occurred between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on March 31st.
