**Los Angeles, CA** – After a year of uncertainty and outrage from filmmakers and fans alike, the live-action/CG hybrid film “Coyote vs. Acme” has found a new distributor. Ketchup Entertainment announced Monday that it has acquired worldwide rights to the Warner Bros. project, in a deal reportedly worth around $50 million.
The film, directed by Dave Green and starring Will Forte, John Cena, Lana Condor, and Tone Bell, follows Wile E. Coyote as he sues Acme Corporation for supplying him with consistently faulty products. Its initial shelving by Warner Bros. last year sparked controversy, with the studio reportedly considering a tax write-off instead of seeking a buyer. This decision drew sharp criticism, including from star Will Forte who called the studio’s actions “bulls–t” and expressed his pride in a “delightful movie” that deserved better.
The acquisition by Ketchup Entertainment, which recently released “The Day the Earth Blew Up,” marks a victory for the filmmakers and the creative community. Ketchup CEO Gareth West stated, “We’re thrilled to bring this film to audiences worldwide. ‘Coyote vs. Acme’ is a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern storytelling…We believe it will resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.” The film’s release date is yet to be announced.
