Mon Mar 31 00:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Ancient Telugu Inscriptions Unearthed in Telangana
**Hyderabad, India –** The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has announced the discovery of Telugu inscriptions dating back to 1517 CE in Telangana state. The inscriptions, found at Narasimhulagutta in the Rajanna Sircilla district, praise various Hindu deities and document the construction of a Vishnu temple on Anantagiri hill. This significant find follows a recent major discovery of inscriptions and rock art in neighboring Andhra Pradesh earlier this year. That discovery, in Lankkamala Reserve Forest, unearthed inscriptions ranging from 800 to 2000 years old, along with prehistoric rock art from the Megalithic period, making it one of the largest archaeological finds in recent times. The Telangana discovery adds to the state’s already rich archaeological heritage, with previous finds including inscriptions from the Chalukya period and the oldest known Telugu rock inscription dating back to 420 CE. The latest discovery further highlights the historical and cultural richness of the region.
