**MADURAI, March 28, 2025** – R. Subburam, 79, father of Madurai Member of Parliament Su. Venkatesan, passed away Friday morning due to age-related illness. Subburam, an agriculturist, had been receiving treatment at both private and government hospitals in Madurai for some time. He passed away at approximately 4:30 a.m.
His body lay in state at his residence in Harveypatti, where the public paid their respects. Funeral rites were held later in the evening. A large number of people, including senior leaders and functionaries of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), attended the funeral to mourn his passing. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
